I have been wanting to write this post for a while now. I created this page in 2024 sometime but just felt so overwhelmed with the home study process that I could never make the time. We completed the home study in November of 2024 and we were finally able to begin seeing profiles of birth moms in December.

I was excited but also terrified. How would we know which child is ours? How could we say no to a child? It all seemed so daunting!

Josh and I have been praying for this process throughout the entire journey; knowing that we needed guidance and wisdom from God, who already knows who our child is. I am so thankful that the future is in His hands. It gives me peace knowing that He is in control and that it is His timing and not ours!

But still, the waiting is hard. I check my email several times a day to see if we have received a new profile. My heart jumps when I see that I have a new email, often is it just spam, but when it’s a profile my conversation with God begins.

Give us wisdom, prayers for the birth mom and her community, and for the health of the baby. This process has deepened my relationship and reliance on God. There is beauty in the waiting and I thank God for that!
